HOT on the heels of a February party to remember, the campaigners for CIVIL UNREST have wasted no time in bringing yet more BREAKS mayhem to town! It’s time for something a little bit special…

Joining DJ’s Crossflow and Bobba are a pair of breakbeat DJ/Producers who are fast becoming the scene’s hottest property!

NAPT have just steamrolled the 2009 Breakspoll Awards winning Best Track, Best Remix and Best Producer categories. NOW Bedford’s finest breaks night delivers them to you, gift wrapped in a 2 hour set… We think YOU deserve it!

The dj collective ‘The dead girls wrong’ had to give their last Friday of the month up last month for that re-arranged Silent disco, but now theyre back with a vengeance.. and every residents event is FREE BEFORE MIDNIGHT!

The Lastminute Comedy Club – Save Our Sundays

February 15^th sees the start of a unique new night in Bedford. Taking place at the Pad on Lurke Street, “The lastminutecomedy club” will run on the second Sunday of the month from 7.30pm and feature the very best comedians from the UK and beyond. Then at 11pm Bedford’s first late night Sunday club, “S.O.S. – Save our Sundays” kicks off, featuring a fantastic array of alt. Rock dancefloor fillers from Punk to Reggae with a smattering of goth, rockabilly, 60s trash and ska along the way. Presided over by DJ Felix and featuring guest DJs the fun goes all the way to 2am so make sure you book the Monday off work!

Resident host and comedy impresario Paul B. Edwards had this to say about the night:

I know there is already a great tradition of comedy clubs in Bedford and I know there are already regular alternative and Indie nights in the area but no-one has ever thought to combine them. As Soon as we saw The Pad we knew it had the potential to do more than one thing in a night, did a bit of research and noticed a gap in the market on a Sunday. We’re not looking to tread on anyone’s toes or steal anyone’s audience. We’re looking to add to the town, not take from it”.

Paul has been promoting and performing comedy for over fifteen years and his sell out shows in Hitchin and Letchworth have become the stuff of legend. His ability to book international stars yet still keep the cost to his audience down has insured the long term success of his ventures and this new night at The Pad is not designed to be a flash in the pan

“I am happy to let a night grow and have no interest in ripping off my audience. I hope this gig will run for many years but the only way we can do that is to get it busy. We really need the help of the local community so if you like comedy, you like alternative music (or indeed both) make sure you check us out”.
